Alex Turns ~8~

I can't believe that my "baby" is already 8 years old!

The years have just flown by, especially since he has 2 younger brothers.

Alex is such a smart kid, no seriously, he has taken an IQ test and he is reallllly smart!

He is always wanting to learn, and is very hands on! I am the exact same way!

He enjoys Star Wars, Wii, playing with friends, legos, and sometimes reading!

Alex was so suprised that we got him a BB gun for his birthday! He was very happy!!!

I just hope that the next 8 years don't fly by like these have, because he will be 16 then.....oh my~

I love the whole idea of the 5 Question Friday. I think it is a neat way to get to know me, with all of the random questions! I hope that you enjoy reading them! If you are a fellow blogger, jump in and join in!!!

1. What are you most afraid of?

Anything terrible happening to my family! As a mother, I try and protect them from everything bad. I try and keep them healthy, happy, educated, in good shape, and so on, but somethings are just out of our hands. I pray that my family remains happy and healthy!

2. Do you use a flat iron or curling iron?

I use a flat iron! Up until last May when I had the horrifying incident with highlighting my own hair, I didn't use anything! But now since I am maintaining this short hair style, I have to use a flat iron or my hair is a fluffy mess!!

3. Hands-free or phone to the ear?

Phone to the ear, I cannot talk on speaker phone or not have control of the phone, makes me crazy!!

4. Do you have a matching bedroom set?

We do!! We bought it when I was pregnant with Mason! Love it!

5. Do you believe in the paranormal?

No, all of the new ghost hunter shows on TV these days drive me nuts!!!

Five Question Friday

1. Would you ever vacation alone?

No, I hate being alone, I would not know what to do all by myself!!! Plus I would like to enjoy a vacation with my husband and kids!!

2. Do you go the speed limit?

Why of course I do, when my radar detector beeps at me and lets me know that I need to!! :)

3. Why did you start blogging/following blogs?

I think it is neat to document day to day thing in my life and with my kids! We get to busy sometimes to really reflect on life and this gives me a chance. It is also great for all of those out of town relatives to keep up!

4. Where do you shop for yourself?

Where ever my mom takes me!! Really, I just do not buy things for myself!!

5. What was the song that you danced your first dance with your spouse to at your wedding...or...what song would you like your first dance to be to?

Keith Urban's Making Memories of us. I loved that song and still do!!! We had the best wedding!!!

Dear John

I finished reading this book last night. I really enjoyed it. The story line was amazing and completely turned from what I thought was going to be a happy ending to something else so different, but yet still happy!! I wanted to read this book after I saw the trailer for the movie. I usually try to do that because most of the time the book is so much better than the movie! I can not wait to watch the movie now, I will for sure have to take some tissue along with me!!

Ram Rally

It was Alex's classes turn to lead Ram Rally. The week before he told me he needed a black shirt and sunglasses. So I went out on the hunt for a black shirt and found one a Kohl's on clearance!!! He used my sunglasses and would not tell me why any of this was needed. He spoke his part and then stood back in line. Then suprise, all of the kids put on black shades and sang the cutest, um, I mean coolest song that was kinda Blues Brothers inspired!!! I loved it!! They did such a good job!!!

Meet Maxx

So we found our ideal dog!! We had been searching for a Border Collie for a while and found an amazing breeder and were so close to taking the next step.

I started looking at the animal shelters just to see what they had.

I came aross this little guy at the SPCA. We went to check him out and he came home with us.

He is supposed to be 1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Australian Shepherd. But take a good look at that head and you may see a little St. Bernard!! He has HUGE feet also.

Maxx just fits so well with our family, he is house trained!!! WOOHOO!! He is so great with the kids. Mason plays with him and pulls him around by his tail and he is just happy to have a home!!

Five Question Friday

1. Worst trouble you ever got into as a teenager?

Um, I really never got into alot of trouble, because I never got caught!!! :)

Seriously, I was that good!!

Or I just didn't have alot of rules to follow...

2. Are you a morning person or a night person?

I am so much of a night owl it is crazy scary, I always have been.

My mom has pictures of me in the morning when I was a kid, with lets say not so much of a smile on my face!

I dread mornings! I wish school started around noon! That would be ideal!!

3. Are you a one-handed or a two-handed Texter?

One, I can't seem to get the 2 handed texting figured out!

4. Democrat, Republican, or Independent..or maybe even Green Party (whatever that is).

Ugh politics....I just want a president that is really about fixing our country and not out to see what they can gain for themselves!! If they are Democrats, Republicans, a pig, goat, or horse, I don't care!! Just fix it!!

5. Are you a pet person?

I have grown up with dogs and horses. Santa brought each of the boys Beagle puppies a few years ago and ended up very badly. Apparently 2 male dogs from the same litter isn't such a good idea FYI. We are browsing for the right dog at the moment. So stay tuned to see if we gain a new family member!!
